Bere Cider Company – Gold Rush Dry 6.5% 35 pint Bag in Box
Cider making can be traced back through the Bere family for four generations and cider has been made at the current premises since 1988. What was originally a hobby, made for friends and family has grown into a small cottage business where a fairly rapid growth has been seen over the last few years and the business now produces around 1500 gallons per year.
At the Bere Cider Company they use age old traditional cider making techniques. The product range is made from 100% English cider apples, many of which are grown in their own orchards. They currently run around 5 acres of orchard growing a total of around 10 commercial apple varieties. They also source additional apples from local farmers orchards within a 10 mile radius of the farm. Most of their varieties are traditional cider apples known as ‘bittersweet’ or ‘bittersharp’. These apples are chosen for cider-making for their fibrous nature which makes them easy to press. Bittersweet apples also have high levels of tannin which is essential for producing great tasting cider.
Gold Rush is their flagship cider, traditional, still and blended from over 20 varieties of English apples.
