Established as a collaboration between farmer, Ian Rennie, and artist-turned-cidermaker, Peter Stuart, in 2008, Thistly Cross has gained a reputation for making ciders that people rave about.
Based at the Cider Shed on South Belton Farm, in the heart of the East Lothian countryside, they are involved in every aspect of making their award-winning Scottish farmhouse cider. From pressing the Scottish apples and strawberries, to achieving the smooth, balanced Thistly Cross flavour by fermenting with Champagne yeast then maturing for six months; they’ve invested at every step of the cider-making process, from apple to cider.
This flavoursome Elderflower Cider packs a serious taste punch blended with fresh elderflowers and left to mature for 6 months to give balance and smoothness. With a rich caramel colour, it has a fruity nose and is medium dry on the palate. It is refreshing, distinctive and zesty.

This cider is matured for 6 months with masses of pressed Scottish strawberries to make a full bodied, fruit-driven, quenching drink. Rich in colour, the mouth is full of fruit with a clean refreshing finish.

Tim Wale, was born in Tutts Clump, a small hamlet in the village of Bradfield, which lies roughly half way between the towns of Reading and Newbury in West Berkshire. This is where he started making cider in 2006, hence the name. He is married to Catherine and has five daughters, Marie, Sarah, Joanne, Lucy and Rachel who help out with the business.
This medium/sweet real cider is lovingly crafted in West Berkshire from a blend of apples before being infused with real blackberry juice – not flavouring!
